The decline in the percentage of Hindu population in India is a
cause of concern. As per the Census Report of 2011, the Hindu population
percentage, which was 84.10 per cent in1951, came down from to79.80 per cent.
At the same time, the percentage of Muslim population has
increased to 14.23 per cent from 9.80 per cent 1951. The percentages of
population of other communities like Sikhs and Buddhists have also gone up in
the meanwhile.
This was stated at a Press conference here by national assistant
coordinator of Bajrang Dal Manoj Verma on Monday.
He said this trend is a cause of concern. The Bajrang Dal is going
to discuss the imbalance in population and cow protection and strengthening of
the Bajrang Dal and challenges before it at its two-day west Odisha session to
be held at Jharsuguda on January 23 and 24, Verma said.
He lamented that many districts India now have zero Hindu
population. The illegal influx of Bangladeshis to India is also a cause of
concern and the Bajrang Dal demands their identification and deportation.
The Bajrang Dal has submitted a petition to the authorities
regarding clandestine cow trafficking in different parts of Balangir district
and has also petitioned the district administration to check the functioning of
madrasas, said a local Bajrang Dal leader.
Among others, Niladri Bihari Joshi, Pabitra Kumar Dash, Antaryami
Karan and Sunil Seth of the BajragDal were present at the Press meet.
