Ananya, Asif win RN Sing Deo memorial TT

Bhubaneswar: Ananya Basak of Khurda District and Asif Haque of Reserve Bank emerged champion by defeating Pousali Ghatak of Accounts General of Odisha and Tausif Haque of East Coast Railway by 4-3 and 4-0 respectively in the Transports 1st RN Singh Deo Memorial All Odisha State Ranking Table Tennis Championship at MB Dharmashala in Bolangir on Saturday, being organized by Balangir District Table Tennis Association. Transport and Commerce Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi gave away the prizes as the chief guest of the closing ceremony. Among others, Balangir District Table Tennis Association secretary Sumit Purohit, vice president Deepak Purohit, Lotus Sadangi, joint secretary Tikdal Majhi, Swagatika Mishra, Amit Sahani, Dinesh Sharma, Muna Khan, Manas Nanda, Siba Behera, Sarat Mishra and Senior Journalist Satya Narayan Behera were present.  Results: Womens singles; Ananya Basak bt Pousali Ghatak by 4-3 (11-9, 11-9, 11-13, 6-11, 11-3, 6-11, 11-3), Men’s Singles; Asif Haque bt Tausif Haque by 4-0 (11-6, 11-2, 11-9, 13-11), Junior girls; Ananya Basak bt Suryasmita Aparajita 4-0 (11-4, 11-2, 11-9 , 11-2), Junior boys;M Ishwar bt Janmenjay Moharana 4-1 (13-11, 4-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-7), Youth boys singles;  Bikash Singh bt M Ishwar 4-0 (11-7, 12-10, 11-6, 11-6), Sub-jr Girls; Yoshita Jamula bt Gayatri Mitra 4-2 (11-9, 15-13, 11-9, 7-11, 5-11, 11-8), Sub-jr boys; Arya S Mahaprasastha bt B Raju 4-2 (11-4, 9-11, 11-8, 3-11, 7-11, 11-9), Cadets girls; Sushree Patnaik bt Anu Sweta Hembrom 3-0 (11-5, 11-4, 11-9), Cadet boys; Sahil Sunder Bhuyan bt Nakul Jamula 3-0 (11-5, 11-8, 11-4).
